Just sharin'. http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/13/canon-5d-mark-ii-used-to-shoot-entire-house-season-finale-direc/
I'm still curious about this.. ; maybe I'm just a cynic, but it seems like a promotional stunt to me. ; I won't be watching.. I don't particularly care for the show, but I am kinda curious about what it'll look like having been shot this way. And OY, the director just HAD to shoot at 24fps instead of 30. ; I gripe about this all the time but I really can't gripe enough about it. ; That "film look" is a DEFECT CAUSED BY THE INCOMPATIBILITY OF 24 AND 30 FPS. ; Because you cannot evenly divide one into the other you get the "film look" of judder. ; The article linked from the other article says that House was shot on 35mm film until now.. that's odd, but I guess that gives him an excuse to stick with 24p to keep a similar look going. I guess I can't criticize him for this, he's the director, maybe he's not expected to know the technical stuff.. but he got his file sizes all wrong too. ; He said "18gb or something" for card sizes. ; So perhaps 16. ; The last time I did the math on it, a 16 gigabyte card gave you just under an hour of recording time. ; Not 22 minutes as he stated. ; With the individual clip size restriction that continuous segments can be no larger than 4 gigabytes.
