Ever since the recent maintenance (Feb 25th?) I have not been able to see certain pictures. I am running Safari on a macbook and I get a question mark inside of a little blue square where the pic should be. I have not changed any settings and it worked fine before the maint. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

This is something that is being worked on. When they changed to the new server, all of the links that had been established to the old one had to be rewritten. This takes time, and I am noticing now, that more of the photo's seem to be coming back. In fact our avatars were one of these items, and I am seeing all of them now, so please just bear with them a little longer and the "issue" should be resolved.

    Poly,

    Thanks for replying.

Unfortunately for The Magic In Pixels, the situations the resulted in the need to move hosts and the decision to make the move was only a few hours. Fortunately, Jose (our host) came to Tim's rescue rather quickly.

This did not give us the luxury of creating a cloned copy of the site on the new forum and be able to extensively test the site to make sure everything worked like we did when we moved hosts a year ago (after the major redesign of TMIP).

Tim is actively working on getting the pictures back to viewable status. We appreciate everyone's patience. This has definitely been a very trying experience, but it'll all work out in the end.

    Thanks Pauly!

Neither of us are experts so it took us all night to figure out, through trial and error, where the problem lay. Then to figure out a workaround. Needless to say, a transition to a new webhost is no small task to be taken lightly....haha

there are a few attachments and avatars that were apparently sacrificed as part of the move... unfortunately for us, there was a server crash during the backup last night (on the old host) so a few files were lost.

pinballpauly.... i think you might be one of the "lucky" winners. please reupload your avatar.

btw, if you folks only knew how much fun it is to change servers on a moment's notice without time to test and debug...

I will try to upload an avatar in a while. I am at work on my Iphone, I work for southwest airlines in Sacramento, today being Friday it is quite busy. As soon as I get a break between flights I will give it a shot.

That would explain why earlier today, I checked into the forums to find it was like a time warp back to Feb 25 - no new posts since then, and all the posts from that day and the 26th as well as the morning of the 27th were gone. I figured it was being worked on, so I came back later to find the situation unchanged...so I posted to the boards (the only post since Feb 25, according to the stats). And noone responded even up until 5pm.

So it was particularly odd to log in tonight in hopes it had all been fixed, to find a bunch of posts from Feb 26 and Feb 27...including new posts occurring SIMULTANEOUSLY with my lonely solo post!

I can only guess by some freak of caching, I was on the old server or some alternate copy...because all of today's activity which is filling the boards wasn't showing up for me all day, and I was posting by myself in some other board wondering where everyone went! :)

Sorry to hear of the problems and emergency switch. I can only imagine how much of a pita that would be!!

i am thinking you might have hit the old site due to some goofy DNS glitch.

still no luck with the avatar. I just get a blank white screen after I click update status. I'll keep trying.

I just may be the biggest computer idiot there is. I was using pictures that were HUGE in size for the avatar so I decided to shrink them down and voila'. Thanks for all the help......Finally, WHEW!!!

I have a Mac also and after uploading 15 posts, the system hangs and won't let me post. ; The post simply times out (time after time)

It would seem that since this text only post went through, that the problem lies with trying to upload photos.
