A thread to share your shots from the official Pixelmania Great Movie Ride meet - or any subsequent rides you may have taken!

Here are some various snaps from the Great Movie Ride...I was shooting a slow zoom lens, so no closeup crisp details for me - but had a little fun with processing on some of them:

Inside the Chinese Theater, looking up:

New York street scene, circa 1930s:

    And a color version too:

Thank you. ; The Alien is tough - I have 4 or 5 shots that are near blackness, and two shots that are completely blown out! ; Those flashing lights catch you off guard and make metering a chore. ; Even though it was blown out, I still sort of liked it. ; That hotel alley is one of my favorite atmospheric scenes on that ride - it's really one you want to be in the first row to catch though - I was in the 3rd row and didn't get as good an angle on it as I'd like. ; Hopefully some others caught it and will share soon!

I have tried several times (unsuccessfully) to get that alien coming out of the roof. ; It is really tough. In addition to exposure, there is more than a little element of luck and where you happen to be sitting. ; I have shot that hotel alley too, but it did not turn out as nicely as yours.

    Thanks guys.

Bill - you're right on the Alien...pure luck. ; I was actually set for the dark exposure at ISO6400, trying to catch him without the bright lights flashing to catch the green color - but those all turned out nearly worthless - the bright flash shots on the other hand were essentially pure white - blown out beyond belief. ; That shot is only the result of about 6 multiplication layers and a ton of highlight recovery - and you can still see how much is blown out! ; But it's by far the best result I've gotten of him yet.
