Just wondering if I am looking at this right. ; I was looking into costs of maybe making a short trip down to WDW or out to DLR in October (dependent on my other Pharmacist's vacation time) and think I noticed something. ; I would be going for five days and wanted to utilize one of the "Buy 3, Get 2" deals, but in the fine print it said based on "Family of Four". ; Of course it doesn't show you any savings until after you book either, so how do I know if I am going to get the deal? ; Any information anyone has would be appreciated.

I traveled solo the past few years and always was able to take advantage of the deals. To me it appears that Disney just uses the "Family of four" as a price reference in it advertisement. I am sure Dennis will rock out the correct answer though :)

So here is the "Disclaimer" for Disneyland Resort (did not see an offer from WDW)...

Offer is valid for bookings from March 16, 2010 through September 1, 2010 and for arrivals from May 1, 2010 through September 26, 2010 with travel being completed by October 1, 2010. Upon the purchase of a 3-night package, with 3-Day Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Bonus Tickets at a participating hotel for a family of four (3 adults and 1 child (age 3-9)), two (2) consecutive free nights will be added to the Hotel stay and two (2) days added to the tickets. Offer applied once per package/reservation and not valid for previously booked rooms. Check for offers associated with other lengths of stay. The Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® Bonus Tickets expire 13 days after first use or October 31, 2010, whichever occurs first, and each day of use of a ticket constitutes one full day of use. Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial purposes. Offer subject to availability; advance reservations required. Not valid with any other discount or promotion. Subject to restrictions and change without notice. Walt Disney Travel Company CST: 1022229-50.

So to me, that means that unless I purchase four sets of park tickets I cannot get the better rate on the room.

I looked at something else while waiting for an answer... ; As I was really on needing 4 days (and not five -was just going to check out early and drop the 5th day), I wanted to see what the price would be for just a 4 day stay with 4 day park hopper. ; Keep in mind I would be looking at a Good Neighbor hotel. ; The Disney website quoted me $694 for a 5 night stay at StayBridge with a 6 day Park-hopper. ; Booking Myself, I found Carousel Suites - 4 nights with a 4 day Park Hopper - for $710. ; And the Carousel is across the street instead of a mile away like the Staybridge. ; Now, I have never travelled to DLR before so maybe there is a huge difference in these two hotels, but it seems I can get a better deal on my own. ; Of course if I really was staying the full amount of time, the Disney Deal would save more, but even using a 40% off Rate didn't seem to save as much.

There are also a few hotels that don't really participate with DL's Good Neighbor Hotel program (they may say they do, but claim they are fully booked when they are not.).

I ended up booking my family's trip individually and got one of the hotels one block away from the entrance for a good price. ; The park hopper prices are about the same esp. considering the online purchase discount with Disneyland.

October would be a fun trip to DL, esp. with the HM makeover.
