So ... I was in the shower today and noticed how fat i am. (242 pounds of pure Canadian Beef) ; ;D

I am going to start training again, to work off all this prime Beef. Now i have always found having goals is the best way to get rid of something you don't want.

So i am publicly saying that i plan on running the Disney Half Marathon Next year ( only 9 months away )!

They may kick me off the race because my times sucks.... but starting this week i am going to run ... (Minnie is going to hold me to this once she sees this post i thinks i have lost my mind) and then i am going to complain about running ... and then i am going to run again!

I figure if i slack off Minnie will be in here letting everyone know and then you will ALL get on my case! (Omg what i am doing)

    Let the heart attack begin.......

  6. Hey Sean,

If you need any support let me know, I'm leading a group from the Running Room in Mississauga to run the 1/2 and the Full (not the Goofy)

This will be my 2nd year for the WDW Full and my third in total. I have run 8 1/2 Marathons.

Any questions fire them at me.

Not great, but not bad! I have been going on hour long walks!

A friend who runs marathons gave me a program, and if i wasn't chicken i would of tired it already.

Is seems so little, but seems so scary. Not sure how fast or slow i should run it. An old boxing instructor told me that it doesn't matter how slow your running as long as your running. That it is better to finish the course at a slower pace then to run as hard as you can and not finish.

    Day 1
    Total: 35 Minutes ; ; ; ; 5 Mins Warm-Up - Walking ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; 10X 1 Min Run + 2 Min Walk

    Day 2
    Total: 40 Minutes Fast Walk

    Day 3
    Rest day

    Day 4
    Total: 35 Minutes ; ; ; ; ; 5 Mins Warm-Up - Walking ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; 10X 1 Min Run + 2 Min Walk

    Day 5
    Total: 40 Minutes Fast Walk

    Day 6
    Rest Day

    Day 7
    Total: 35 Minutes ; ; ; ; ; 5 Mins Warm-Up - Walking ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; 10X 2 Min Run + 1 Min Walk

  9. Hey Sean,

I totally agree with what you said, I'm not the fastest runner but its about the journey.

One thing I want to say is that you may be increasing too quickly. You may want to stay at one level for a longer period of time. This way your body gets used to the time/distance you are running.

Think about it as building a house. Right now you are working on the foundation. You want to finish up right and smiling.

    Cheers

So an update on my running schedule. I have been running and playing soccer over the past couple of weeks. ( God i missed soccer )

However it looks like i need to take a break! :'( :'( :'(

I have shin splints and i have been trying to push through... but that hasn't worked well.

Are you doing an exercise with a towel and your toes? ; Standing on the edge of a step and lifting yourself up and down???

I hear ya! ; Shinsplints are always one of the greatest downfalls for me. ; That and a good case of drop-butt!!! ; ;)

  12. Good to here you are keeping it up . Too bad about the shin splints. My first question is how old are your shoes, also did you by them from a running store. (That is the running that you do that is not soccer.)

You may also want to think about joining a Running Room clinic, not only am I an instructor but I am also a success story. 3 1/2 years ago I started in the Learn to Run clinic. I was 202 lbs and could not run for a minute.

Again let me know if you need any guidance.
