I am too giddy to even finishing reading the article first!

Rob Galbraith has an excellent summary beyond Apple's official press release.

Several new updates, including flip options, and customizing the Adjustments pane (before you would have to hack it manually, but now you can choose which Adjustments are shown by default, rather than what Apple wanted to. For me this is the second most important update today. The first is the news that Picture Code is working on a Noise Ninja plugin!

Nik software is working on Viveza for A2
Image Trends is working on some
    Tiffen is working on Dfx
Digital Film Tools is working on Power Stroke

and dvGarage is working on dpMatte (a greenscreen software, and their website has it announced already to come out on 4/3) and...

    HDR Toner

I'll be trying out that one when it comes out!

    Re: Noise Ninja update

Rob G. posted an update from Picture Code (same link above).

Claiming mid-May release, with hopefully a public beta before then.

He also has gone more in-depth about the plug-in process. Dodge & burn works on an exported file, so it involves destructive editing above the RAW file (TIFF or PSD), but the archeticture of the plug-ins allows for sidebar files to be returned so non-destructive editing is possible. All and all really cool and can't wait to try it out, which will probably have to wait til tomorrow night.

;D I guess I should have started a new thread instead of adding to your other Aperture one. Anyways, I'm very excited about the update and will install it tonight. I know many people have complained about Aperture's noise reduction (and lack there of) so it's good to see third parties developing these plug-ins. Nik Software's Viveza is something I will be trying out as soon as they release it. U-Point technology is trés cool.

Yes, me too! Very excited about NN. And would love to try the HDR software too. HDR Tone seems to indicate tone mapping....

On a PC aperture isn't available for me. I downloaded safari, trying to make my Windows machine as macish as possible.

Rob G posted a screen movie from PictureCode today; it shows an alpha NN plugin for A2 working. If it batch processes, I won't care that it has to create an external file to do the removal!

Also, Viveza for Aperture will apparently be included with the PS plugin, at the $250 price. Umm yeah, a plug in that costs more than the software that you're running it on. Yeah, that will work.
