Mine too....but it's making wonder if they have a replacement in mind. ; Then again Canon only has three flashes. (not including the macro stuff)

I guess the SB-900 is a step up and not a replacement?

I have 1 SB-800 and a pair of SB-600's but don't use them much so I have not really thought too much on the new one.

I have two SB-800's and one 900. I like the 900 as a commander so much that I'm considering getting an SU-800 and move it off the camera to use it's light, rather then as a $500+ trigger. It's range, patterns, versatility and UI are all big upgrades.

The only downside I see from real world use is it's need for Crystalic Fusion, NOW! ;)

I was wondering how much of a power hog the SB-900 was. ; I'll be borrowing one to shot a wedding and reception in June. ; How many AA's should I have with me?

Go to Costco, buy the otherwise 'lifetime supply' pack, and you should be good!

Seriously though, depending on how you are mounting it to the camera or frame I'd suggest an external pack. My experience has been slower then SB-800 recharge times between full power flashes. If you are shooting the wedding, chances are you won't be on full power much at all, so you may not run into this issue.

Overall, I REALLY like the unit and the changes it has allowed me to make in terms of the shooting i do.
