Hey all, ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; I've been seeing banners for this site whenever I get time to log into the Dis boards, so I thought I'd join here too. I'm Esther, I'm turning 21 next month and I'm a musical theatre student (I actually have an audition for DCL next week! ; ) ... It's great to meet fellow Canadian Disney fanatics
Let me be the first to welcome you. There is a lot of Disney knowledge here. And we are proud Canadians. Good luck in your audition, break a leg
Welcome! ; Nice to see another Torontonian and theatre-type (I studied technical theater at school... and music is in my blood, too) break a leg at your audition (well, not literally, obviously ) Are you studying at York?
I actually did study at York - I did Classical and Jazz Voice ...but I really want to do Musical Theatre, so I wasn't too happy. Now I'm in my final year at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, which is a phenomenal school
Welcome and good luck on your audition next week. Are you involved in the High School Musical Production the Randolph Academy is putting on? I unfortunately (or fortunately depends on how you look at it) can't make it because I'll be a WDW at the same time as the performance.
Yeah... from what I've heard York is pretty compartmentalized and, like so many other schools, musical theatre falls through the cracks. Funny... I'd never heard of Randolph Academy until last week and now I've heard the name 3 times in 5 days *laugh*
Another Welcome to the boards here. ; Thanks for joining. Hope you do well at your audition. ; So I was just wondering how many times and how often have you been to Disney? ; Sounds like you got a pretty full schedule. ; Are you going any time soon?
Hey - actually, High School Musical is the Randolph Young Company. It's basically kids and teens that do it. I'm enrolled in Randolph's College program. At the end of March, I'll be doing the Crucible (a play recounting the Salem witch trials of 1692), and at the end of July, I'll be doing a musical (though they've not announced which one yet). Well, I went to Disney a couple times as a child which I don't really remember, then I went for about three days maybe 4 years ago, which wasn't really the best time to be going. Finally, the guy I'm dating and I decided to take advantage of the DDP deal this past August, and we went together for a week. I read all 900+ pages of the Unofficial Guide and met seasoned WDW people and learned everything there is to know about Disney, so my guy and I would know where to go and when and what to do, and all the kinds of things we'd like. So we just had the most fantastic time, and we both miss it terribly (more me I think though ) I do have a pretty full schedule, but I usually have a reading week in every term, and 3 weeks off between terms (hence why we went in August), but I graduate this August coming. We don't have a lot of money, since I'm still in school - but it's kind of my mission to find a way to get back to WDW this year somehow Here's hoping!
