It was time to trade in the old wheels for the new wheels last night. ; My current speedwagon was over 5 years old and off warranty - high-tech German engines can be a little expensive if something goes 'pop' so warranties feel a little better. ; Unfortunately, they don't make my speedwagon anymore, so I decided I wanted to keep all the good stuff underneath and could give up on the wagon bodystyle. Here's the outgoing mad wagon departing shot, with the new car parked right behind it: [attachimg=3] And the new ride is here. ; All I have are some snaps I took while taking delivery last night, so nothing fancy yet. ; The new car is hot off the presses - 2013 model, just redesigned, and just off the truck this past week...I've got one of the first ones on the road. ; The car is a VW CC VR6 4motion Executive (they don't bother to put all that on the trunklid!) ; It's got all the power of my old ride, the all-wheel drive, and all the tech toys and doodads (It can't make very good toast, but does almost everything else): [attachimg=1] [attachimg=2] I'm still due to get the windows tinted in the next week or so, and will be painting the brake calipers to give it a little snazz. ; In the meantime, I still have to sit down with the owner's manual and the in-car computer menu, and set up some 17 pages of customization functions (you can set up everything from how long to leave the lights on when you get out to whether to start the heated seats at a certain inside temperature). ; I don't even have radio presets programmed yet!
Thank you. ; It's going to distract me a little bit from the photography as I play with the new ride, but soon the two shall marry as I'll be taking more photos of the new car.
Justin that is a sharp looking car, Congrats! ; It's always really cool to be one of the first out there.
Thanks both. ; Now I just need to get my tint done. ; I negotiated it into the deal, but need to carve out the time to stop by the dealer again to do it. ; Down here in Florida, tinted windows are almost a must-have (they are a must for me).
Ouch. ; Good thing you don't have as much sun as we do! ; We're allowed 30% on the front side windows, and 20% all around the back...any darker, and you get ticketed. ; I usually just do 35% all the way around - just enough to cut down the heat when the car sits, but not so dark as to hurt night vision.
