So it appears that The Magic, The Memories and You is ending on the 3rd of September but beginning in November we will get a new projection show on the Castle. ; Here is a link to the story from the local news channel.
I'd be interested to hear why it takes so long to just put a new DVD in the projection system. ; If the new show isn't ready, just keep showing the old one until then.
Good point. ; They may have to re-aim the projection system, but that shouldn't take more than an evening or two at most. ; Maybe they're upgrading the projection system
From the image that is shown in that story, I am wondering if it is more of an upgrade and addition of a few cameras. ; The image shows the projection seemingly wrapped around the sides of the castle more so than I remember the current show doing.
That's what I think I'm seeing in that story - at least by their little sample graphic. ; It seems they may be installing additional projectors to extend the show to all sides of the castle.
I am glad that there will be a change. ; Although I enjoyed MMY, I would rather see a show more like what they are describing. ; Of course, I makes it harder to find a spot on Main Street to shoot wishes, with this being 15 minutes prior. ; Now I have to set up earlier (found that out the hard way this summer)
If I recall correctly, there are projectors above the Plaza and Cosmic Ray's. ; There's also one in Liberty Square across the street from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. ; Is there one above Casey's too? ; I can't remember. Where else would they need one?
Most likely on the back side - they'd probably need another 3 to cover the rear from front and 2 side angles, similar to what they cover from the front. ; Probably one built into the new Beast castle mountain complex somewhere, and then two from the side angles, maybe around Mrs Potts and on the Small World or Village Haus.
I can think of one major reason they won't project on the back side of the castle: ; That area is a no-man's land during the fireworks. ; I can't imagine them encouraging people to be in that area before Wishes, only to have to clear them out of the fallout zone.
