Well, I got my new lens today...the Nikkor 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 G ED VR. I originally thought I'd get the 70-300 VR, but I liked this one better. I don't have any pictures to post yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post a few!

This will be my new walking around lens. I'm hoping to sell my 18-55 somewhere - probably ebay.

    Thanks guys!

If it's not too hot in the morning, I think I'll take the kids and see what kind of wildlife we can find. It was pretty hot in North Florida today...topped out at 98 at my house. There are a few nice nature areas, as well as a nice blind, within a couple of miles of me, so if we get moving early enough, maybe we could catch something interesting!

Also, my son will be doing (if we can get up early enough) Karate at the Beach later this month, where we drive to St. Augustine and his school does Karate as the sun rises. I thought that would be a nice opportunity to grab some sunrise beach pictures, and even get some interesting silhouette shots.

Not sure how good a wildlife lens it will be for you (I find zoos the best place to capture wildlife with this lens :) ) but it should be great for taking pictures of your kids. Don't forget to use the wide end of the lens. I think you are going to love it's versatility. Looking forward to seeing those photos.
