so how many did we take, i'm just guessing on mine because i downloaded my raw and culled the junk before i thought of this, but i can get a reasonable guesstimate gary, approx 1700, 12/10 - 12/14
When I go I tend to be in the high thousands... but- it's because I take multiple angles and shots of the same thing, cause I really wanna make sure I bring one good enough to print home. 500 good prints out of 1500 shots is my average for any vacation~ I chimp...even tho I chimp, I find when I get the shots to a big screen for review about a third are not quite right, not quite clear, not quite the right angle...but the 2nd and 3rd shots of the same subject give me the option to turn just a little, add flash when needed and even give the lens proper time to fully focus on the subject. doyaknowwhatImean?
my shot count should go up with the 5dMk2 (ding!) because it has a silent mode where the mirror locks up and all you hear from there on out is the shutter. you might not even hear that if you were next to me because it's so quiet. stealthy. me likey.
Okay so obviously the majority of my shooting was not done at mousefest (although I took about 150 shots at Off Kilter). After I threw out all the junk I think my total count in my photobucket album was about 825 but according to iphoto, the last photo is named 3000-something!
720, give or take a few. And that was a lot! My typical Disney trip is 300-400, with occasional 500s. I think the fact that I go there for 4-6 day trips about 5-6 times a year means I don't have to cram as many shots into each trip as the rest of you. If I pooled my annual shots, I'm running 1,700-2,000 per year (which still pales in comparison to some of you crazies!!) The good thing was the keeper ratio - I don't shoot alot of duplicates - only a few bursts shooting the animals...and delete bad shots as I take them so that probably knocked out a good 150 more. In the end, I've got 490 keepers from this trip out of 720 or so - so not too bad!
What, no likey clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap-clap in 1 sec vs. ccccccclapppppppppp-ccccccccccclappppppp-cccccccccccccclappppppppp in 3? ;D
alright, thats enough. actually there are 2 modes, one is single shot and the other keeps the mirror up and uses the preview screen to recompose. virtually silent. good stuff.
1582 (after many, many deletions with many more to go) 12/10-12/13. However, at least half of these are me trying to figure out how the camera works.
But not virtually beacon-light free. tsk tsk. I expected more... at the very least for night vision goggles to pop out as necessary
Arencha Glad you have digital! I did the math, for a roll of 24 that's only 624 pics. I know I'm really, really glad I have digital
Yes I am glad, because I used to limit myself to only 108 shots of Fantasmic! (left coast) I even had the times to change the film rolls in the sequence. Now, I am (was, really) only limited by the buffer.
One of my brother's best friends is a professional photographer specializing in model shoots (lucky guy) and weddings. He told me to NEVER throw out your bad pictures. To keep the good with the bad. That way you can review the EXIF data from the bad shots to try and learn from them. So, I upload all my pictures to Flickr. The funny thing is that most of the pictures people flag as their favorites are the ones that I find are "bad". They are often out of focus and streaky dark ride photos. I guess they think it was an intentional design element.
