It was a lovely day here in New York today. ; I went to a place that is a well known favorite of seagulls and spent a lovely couple of hours watching and photographing them. ; Seagulls can be beautiful creatures too.. Well, that makes me feel good, Will. ; Yes. ; I'm new at it. ; I've been spending a lot of time at it lately. ; My kids are all in school a full day now, and I have time to pursue something I always thought I could love. Turns out, I really do.
Thank you all so much for the kind comments. ; This was one of those wonderful unexpected experiences. ; I was alone, amidst hundreds of seagulls on a gorgeous day. ; They allowed me to wander amongst them, as long as I didn't move too fast. ; All I had, was my camera, and me. ; All were handheld, which I am very proud of. ; I have learned so much here, and on flickr. ; I do struggle, even now, with the technical side of things. ; But I found I learn quickly by talking to others, asking questions and studying people's exif data and quite simply..just getting out there and doing it. ; Messing up, and then trying something else. ; Starting over and over and over. ; Making alot of mistakes. ; Somebody said, it's a journey. ; I hold onto that. ; I imagine the rest will come in time, one piece at a time. ; But for me, right now, enjoying the journey is what it's all about, and this day will go down in the books.
Is it just me or do the birds in the last three photos look like they are getting ready to kill someone. ; Hopefully Tippie Hedron is nowhere near this place.
