Post-Pixelmania is always a tough time for me. ; I've got all those photos I want to get finished with processing, cropping, and uploading, but I also have all the work stuff to catch up on, all the holiday stuff to plan for and shopping to complete, all the decorations to put up at home, all the chores to finish...I'm lucky if I can carve out 2 hours a day to working on photos from the trip! ; I am hoping I can get finished with all my processing by Friday evening, and then start picking those to resize and upload before the weekend. ; I don't work on my photos in small batches and post them along the way - I like to finish the entire trip before uploading. ; As of last night at 1:30am, I have managed to get through a little more than half of my trip photos from both cameras. ; I had 2,350 total photos, which I then managed to cull down to 980, getting rid of duplicates, picking one of a burst, and getting rid of flubs or extraneous shots I already have too many of. ; With the merging of HDR, stacking bursts, merging exposure brackets, etc., I've whittled down to 698 total. ; As I go through and process, I always leave out a few more along the way, or push them aside to consider working on sometime in the future...I expect I may end up with about 500 or so as my final batch. ; Then as I resize to upload to my online galleries, I may choose about 1/2 of those to upload. I cannot imagine what some of you folks are going through with the post-processing and photo selection process! ; I know there are probably some who shot double, triple, or more of the shots I came home with, and shot all in RAW requiring post processing on every shot! ; I suppose you could still be working on 2013 Pixelmania photos well into Pixelmania 2014! So how's everyone going with the photo selection and processing process?
Well, I'm about 80% done now - should be able to wrap the rest up into the wee hours tonight. ; In the meantime, I broke my own rule and decided to upload what I had ready now, and will upload the rest after I finish them tonight - still have about 250 photos to finish, and it should yield another 60 or so uploads. ; As you can see, I've already started adding to or kicking off a bunch of PM2013 threads!
