Macaw sequence from Blue Horizons (SeaWorld Orlando)

    I would never have gotten this with the Edsel.

    70-300 vr? Nice!

    I'm beginning to wonder if there is something about the D300's sensor that distorts vibrant reds more then anything else. I'm looking at the border of the macaw's red head against the blue background, and it is mirroring a lot of what my D300 does with reds in front of contrasting colors. I'll post an example when i get home.

    Regardless, the pics above are not to the extreme mine are!

    Thanks Scott & Mark!

    It's the 80-400 VR. As for the reds, I did bump the saturation up to 1.2 in A2. But your red comment is intriguing, as that is a complaint with the Foveon sensor as well.

    Here is an example of what I was talking about.

    This is straight out of the camera, only the size and dpi were changed. I had it set at vivid +2 I believe. You can see how the reds over powered the contrast in the flower. Play with it Photoshop or A2, desaturate, and you can that there is actual detail there! ;)

    Moral of the story is: No more Vivid +anything for me...
