Specifically MK but any others as well. Are they big enough to store a 20" long folded tripod? So, instead of carrying it all day, I go get it at dusk to set up for the firework shows. Thanks! Scott
i dont think that would be a problem... a bunch of us dropped them off at mousefest last year and they fit fine.
I don't think mine is quite the size of yours...but I was able to fit it with room to spare, as well as a compact umbrella, a small cooler, and a change of shirt. My tripod measures approx. 17" folded...the lockers seem to be deeper than that, as I didn't have to turn it diagonal to fit. And it's high enough to fit a 6-pack Igloo cooler next to it, with the shirt on top.
Thanks! I've never used lockers at the parks before so I had no idea how big they were. One less thing to worry about before leaving in 23 days. ;D
Ah...found some info that should help you - and which confirms my suspicion that the lockers are deeper than your tripod!: Magic Kingdom - Under the Train Station inside the park Small locker - 11"H x 9"W x 16" Deep Large locker - 17"H x 12"W x 22" Deep Epcot - To the right of the base of Spaceship Earth, near the restrooms Small locker - 11"H x 9"W x 16" Deep Large locker - 17"H x 12"W x 22" Deep Disney MGM Studios - Rent at Crossroad's of the World - Lockers located next to Oscar's Super Service Small locker - 11"H x 9"W x 16" Deep Large locker - 17"H x 12"W x 22" Deep Disney Animal Kingdom - Expedition Storage lockers by Guest Services inside the park Small 11"H x 9"W x 16" Deep Large 17"H x 9"W x 16" Deep BTW - I guess I should have mentioned 'large' - that's the size I always get. Looks like the only one that might give you a problem is Animal Kingdom, which for some reason are not as deep or wide as all the others. However, the law of cosines will give you a diagonal depth of 23.3" given the 17" height and the 16" depth - so your tripod will fit even in Animal Kingdom if you put it in the locker diagonally. Hope that helps!
Thanks, Justin! I'm staying at the Dolphin this time so I'm not worried about Epcot or MGM as we'll be taking a mid day break and head back to the room. Good to know to ask for the LARGE locker size at MK and AK. Of course if I bite the bullet and go for that VR lens I tried out yesterday, I might not need a tripod, eh? ;D
Photographic proof. This is a locker at the Magic Kingdom. As per Justin's recommendation, I always got the large lockers. I know this is an old thread but it's great information for anyone bringing a tripod to WDW.
Definitely good info to keep around for new folks. Glad to see it fit, BTW! I would have hated to have been wrong...but I suspected that you'd be OK as long as you went diagonal. Still room for more stuff in there too - change of clothes, lunch pail, 6-pack!
