I wanted to take these shots in August. The rain stopped it during the first part of our August trip. When we went back at the end of our trip, the skies were almost blue, but the Libery Bell was in a giant crate!!

These came out great! You're getting the hang of putting things in close, in the middle and in the background. Really lets you tell a very different story than with say a 50mm lens.

Thanks Scott, I'm really starting to enjoy that lens. I find myself looking for shots that can exaggerate the wide angle.

if you really want to end up in the doghouse, shoot a wide angle of dina from up close and a downward plane. she'll never speak to you again...

    OOH YEAH!!
    She hates that!!
One of my favorite shots I always take is her on the escalator up to the wedway!
WARNING do not do this to your wife with wide angle! :D

These pictures and Scott's very gracious loaning of the lens to me is making it hard to elevate this lens up the wish list. With a maximum aperture of f/2.8 makes it faster than my 18-200VR

Great stuff Scott! Have you played with more fstop to get more DOF? I like the first, but it looks like the Hall is a bit fuzzy.

Easy to get confused, Michael. This is Craig's work. Difference is, I own mine. :D I'm sure Craig will someday.

    Thanks everyone!

mpower, I used 2.8 to make sure that the sign was the main focus of the picture. I never thought about trying a higher fstop.
But, I was also only about 20" away from the sign, so the HOP is probably not in focus anyway.
The tokina focuses so close, that's what makes part of it so fun to use, is that you can really force wide angles.

I forgot to post the shot I had planned to do in August. This didn't come out exactly as planned! ;D

    hahahah!

Reminds me of Disneyland during the time mgmt turned the park around (After Emperor Pressler left).

Or the parking lot, I mean DCA for the years it took to build. And the monorail was one-way only.
