I'm off to Disney tomorrow, leaving work an hour or two early to beat the traffic out of Palm Beach which will put me at the Boardwalk front entrance around 7pm. Checking into my 1-bedroom vacation home on the main boardwalk, and likely walking immediately into Epcot for dinner & Illuminations. I'm hoping the crowds will be down - a regular, non-holiday week in the middle of the hot hot summer. It'll probably fill up by weekend, but since I'll have a Friday, Monday and Tuesday too, I'm hoping I'll get shorter lines and less mass of humanity. Tim - how was the crowd while you were there this past week? Either way...there will be lots of photo taking, lots of relaxing shady stops, and lots of beverages of various strength! Can't wait to get back up there.
Hi Justin, we went last week. The weather was beautiful! Not hot at all, but we're from FL too! The crowds were great at MK & Epcot. We went to MGM Fri for Star Wars, that was very crowded. It caught me off guard and kind of put me in a bad mood. It was busier than fantasyland on a saturday, SO we walked straight back to the bar next to Honey shrunk kids set, had a couple of cold ones and all was well. Either I was in a better mood, or the crowds thinned. edit: if you go to Star Wars weekends, I highly suggest the Jedi training show where they pull kids out of the audience to "train" them. It was very enjoyable. we dont have kids, but the show is very funny while they fight with Darth Vader and Darth Maul. It is also a good photo op to get Vader with a neat backdrop while he is not really "posing" for a picture. he is very animated. the stormtroopers were very good also. I will be posting pictures soon, but I have 1000 to go through from our trip, and I haven't finished deleting and editing yet. My poor wife... I take so many pictures now, while saying "films free!!!!"
great to hear! I love it anyway, and the crowds dont' take away my fun (hey, I'm used to going Memorial Day, so I can deal with crowds!), but the parks take on a whole different feel when they are less crowded - and you feel like you can spend alot more time just chilling, people-watching, photographing, and enjoying a relaxing day in the parks instead of running ragged to race to every ride and wait in line. Looking forward to it - just gotta get through the rest of this work day!
