A few things are starting to click, I think. ; Please tell me what you think! ; I'd appreciate any and all critique. ; I cropped just a bit and straightened it a little in Aperture.

really good, you are on the right track, although i do have a minor crit, and believe me, it's something i have to watch out for all the time. the background, great bokeh, etc, but, those lights obscure the candle flames, and in fact on the left seems to be growing out of it, now maybe you can't move the candles, change the angle or whatever, but maybe you can next time be aware, trust me, i do the old lampost out of the head far more often than i like to admit. and this is sort of personal preference, flame is really neat when captured, i always try to make that the center point. maybe that's why i like being a fireman so much, and no, i haven't gone over to the dark side

    :D ; Thank you, Gary! ; I didn't know you were a fireman. :) ; I have a close friend who is too, so I kinda like firefighters a bit... :-*

You made me laugh because I do that alot too. ; Yesterday, I was shooting pics of my little guy's birthday while he was opening gifts and when I went to look at them all, he had a balloon growing strangely out of his head in almost every one! ; I was SO mad. ;D ; Well...sorta.

I appreciate your comment and will try the shots again at some point, paying close attention to the flames, and see what happens. ; I'm a total bokeh freak right now so everything I shoot, I try and shoot with the background in mind. ; I think I pay more attention to that than the subject. ; At least this time, I tried f8. :) ; That was new for me.
