I am no fan of AA. ; So much so that I will avoid using them whenever possible. ; Unfortunately they have more frequent service to MCO from AUS than my current favorite, JetBlue. ; (Southwest is really also my equal favorite, but their prices can't match nonstop with Blue) ; JetBlue allows one checked bag free, unlike the non-SWA majors, but only flies once a day to LA (Long Beach) and Orlando from Austin.... Not sure what to think about it, other than "I can get a flight to Europe using JetBlue as my domestic flight with one ticket...." http://www.statesman.com/news/texas/american-airlines-jetblue-form-partnership-492698.html?srcTrk=RTR_95649&plckItemsPerPage=25&plckFindCommentKey=CommentKey:fd80cf9e-bae9-4e63-a089-31cfb09d890c#pluck_comments_list
We are also in the same boat about AA. ; We were so upset when we had to fly AA to China but there was no way to do it and avoid outrageous complications since AA is the partner airline for most of the foreign carriers that flew to China
