    My boss (the greatest boss in the world) gave me an iPad on Monday to thank me for all of my hard work and dedication to the company. ; Does anyone have any recommendations for a good case? ; I'm looking for something simple like this one http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC361ZM/B but preferably with space for a stylus, and a business card holder.

    iPad 2?

    I am using an m-edge case for my iPad 1, which I did get on clearance at Staples since the iPad 2 had been announced at that point. ; It has room for business cards on the outer jacket and I guess you could use the elastic bands on the spine to hold a stylus....

    Yep. ; iPad 2, 32Gb

    I have to go to staples this week to pick up some stuff, so I'll check that one out when I'm there.

    Congrats Michael.

    I have the Apple case for my iPad and like its minimal approach. ; Very thin and light, but slightly ugly and has a rough edge to it.

    I also have the Marware Eco Vue which is leather and padded. ; It is easier if you want to remove the iPad from its case frequently. ; (The iPad is harder to get out of the Apple case.) ; I did not like the strap they used to secure the iPad in the case for the Marware unit, it is a flap that folds over the iPad but does not velcro to anything. ; Not sure if they changed this for the iPad2 version

    Neither have a card holder or a Stylus holder.

    I actually do not like cases for my iPhone or iPad. Never liked the bulk that they added to the device. Love using gelaskins though :)

    The Apple case is probably the slimest case you can get and still have some all around protection.

    I have the Eco-vue too for my iPad 1. Very good protection, but it does add quite a bit of bulk, so it's a definite tradeoff. However, after a year it's definitely showing signs of wear. In a few places the edging has come off, letting the felt-like material lift off the hard case, to which it strangely isn't glued. Don't know how much they've improved it for the rev.2 case.

    You're going to use a stylus with the iPad? With which programs? There are times I've cursed small buttons and fat fingers, but I've also gotten quite good at using my pinky in those cases when I can't pinch zoom into the button.

    Yes, don't let Steve Jobs find out you are using a stylus on the iPad, he will send in the Cupertino Cops to confiscate it! ;D

    I have seen some brushes that look cool and might come in handy with some of the photo apps.

    Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I ended up ordering the Marware Eco Vue and it should be here Monday.

    We use SketchBook Pro by Autodesk to do sketches in the field. I've tried sketching on it with just my fingers and have trouble drawing accurately that way. ;

    We're also starting to add a requirement in the specifications for our job requiring the contractor to provide wifi in the job trailers and to give us access so we can email sketches to the contractor before leaving the site. We als hope to be able to issue field reports directly from the site in the near future
