Nicely Done Roger! I was just listening to WTTM 24's second episode and they were on the original Tiki Room and I forgot how much I missed the original.

Agreed. While I'm not saying the Under New Management version is total trash; the original had such a touch of class to it that I feel is tarnished by this newer overpowering rendition.

With that out of the way; those are some great shots Roger!

    Thank you!

Actually I don't mind the new version, and it's great to be able to still experience most of the original show.

i agree with dawholagn, though to as much of an extreme. i am a fan of the original version, and it is certainly less intimidating for billy... he does not like uh-oa, 'specially when her eyes turn red.

  6. "I sing so beautiful I should sing solo"
"Si, so low we can't hear you!"
"My voice may not be so marvolous but my profile is out of this world"
"Trouble is, its not far out of this world"
"Hey you hens, stop all of this clucking. Theres a lot of birds waiting to go on. For instance..."

*haha I did that from memory*

I very much prefer the classic version of the show. I agree with dawholagan that the original had a lot of class. I remember their being a decent crowd waiting to see the original version every time I was there... the last time I was there, the CM's were practically begging people to see the show. At least they still have the original in DL.

Which is why Emperor Pressler tried to let it go away via no-maintenance. Heck the waiting area with the Gods and Goddesses used to have a thatch roof. Until it caved in. It took a surprise visit by some Dole executives to change that and get some routine maintenance done. At least it finally got that a few years back.

I think they still have an attendance problem. Some people want it to remerge with the Indiana Jones Theatre, formerly known as Aladdin's Storytime Oasis, formerly known as the Theatre that will live in Infamyâ„¢ (Disneyland After Dark video, watch the first rendition after Disney Legalâ„¢ watched it before releasing it on DVD.)

I forgot about the thatch roof...

I think it would be a neat idea to redo the show back under the old management... maybe have the old show with a new intro along the story line that the birds didn't like Iago and Zazu and bought the show back from them... Although the problem with that is that some of the original voice actors are no longer around, so it would be hard to get the voices to match from the intro to the show.

You can see a little bit of the roof in this shot. This has got to be Kodachrome, and either 98/99. But it looks like the 60s.
