Welcome to the boards, Maria. There is nothing wrong with the cropping. All that matters is what looks good to you. Some people use the rule of thirds (so much so that some major software programs are including it during cropping), others will use Ansel Adams' zone system for exposure/compositions. Some cameras use a gridline system that isn't thirds. (I'm looking at you Nikon!) Feel free to ask any questions you have!
