So Hermine has come and gone, and she ended up taking a hard turn in the Hill Country and sideswiped Austin. ; Some areas got 13 inches of rain, and most of the formerly dry creeks are flooded. ; Several intelligence-challenged individuals decided that the low-water crossing road barricades didn't apply to them, and well, kept the Swift Water Rescue Teams busy overnight.

Taken on my way home from work on Tuesday. ; Major 4 lane state road, not a low-water crossing - the drainage/flood control channels couldn't keep up with the rain and you can see how deep it got.

This is the "parking lot" for the Colorado River Preserve that I visited alot in the spring. ; The debris is from the high-water mark that the Colorado River got during the storm, and about half the parking lot is still under water at this point at noon on Wednesday. ; They are expecting it to get worse, as this is about 1 mile downstream from the Longhorn Dam, which opens up to prevent flooding in downtown Austin from Lady Bird Lake (which has another dam upstream that opens to prevent flooding, rinse, repeat several times upstream)
