Hi my name is Ann. I'm a Disney-holic. (crowd chimes Hi Ann) hehe I'm 22, I've been to Disney some 27 times. 18 of those since I turned 18. I was lucky enough to take 8 trips one year. I'm even getting married at Disney next year. I've always considered myself an avid photographer since I was 5, and my uncle gave me my first p&s. I got my first slr in 2000 some Russian camera, that I couldn't read the manual. My photography teacher couldn't read it either. I switched to digital in 2002 and just got my first dslr a few months ago. A Pentax K100d Super. Thanks to my local Wolf Camera closing I was finally able to afford one and all the accessories. (because that 64mb sd card wasn't going to cut it) I'm slowly getting all the equipment. I'm still waiting on my big park bag, and a f/1.4 lens, but I should get those soon. (maybe) Thanks, and I can't wait to dive into the fourms. ;
I know I snuck this in already, but welcome to the boards! I see that KEH has a few 50/1.7 AF lenses in stock, that might not be a bad place to start. ; Although Pentax seems to have the cheapest 50/1.4 AF lens around....
442 miles, huh? ; There are a lot of places that far - from Wilmington NC, to western SC, to west suburbs of Atlanta, to Mobile, Alabama. ; Which are you closest to? Welcome to the boards, and have fun browsing around and joining in!
Welcome to the boards! ; I got married in Disney at the Polynesian 9 years ago this August. ; It was WONDERFUL to say the least. ; I have some photo's posted in my gallery. ; We got married on Sunset Point and then took the monorail to the Contemporary for dinner in the private room at the California Grill.
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I don't know how to multi-quote. So I'm going to do my best improve: Roger-Thanks for the site recommendation. Ended up making a trip to Wolf Camera this evening and DFi found a 70-210 manual focus lens ; ; he's happy with for $35. I refuse to touch the thing, So I'm now holding off on my lens for a little while. zackiedawg-I'm inside the city acutally. Last time I google maped it was 442 miles, but now it says 444. I'm not sure where the extra 2 miles came from. PolynesianMedic-I'd love to get married at Sunset Pointe, it's so pretty, but I'm having too many people and it's no long an option in September, but DFi has promised me a vow renewal there..someday. Thanks Craig, mSummers, Cooleo, gary, goofmick, goofy101 for the warm welcome. If I ever post wrong information I apologize. I tend to get things mixed up and my friends say I have a degree in A.T. I'll not post what the A stands for as I'm sure it's a banned word, but T is for talker.
Hey, you're posting from Ubuntu! ; I think that's the first one I've seen here! ; (shouldn't talk, I may actually try installing W7RC on my home iMac)
Sadly, I don't know what that means. DFi is the computer guy. I get fed up with Vista so he put Ubuntu on here for me. It looks a lot like our mac set up. Since I mainly use my computer for photo editing and web surfing it's nice. I am a fan of open source, I've even got a G1 the day it came out to show my support. ;
I installed Vista (the 2nd one in my office) on my work iMac. ; I feel your pain. ; Except that it seems oddly familiar to Leopard. ; I'm thinking about giving Windows 7 Release Candidate (W7RC) at spin at home, since I'm not running any version of Windows at home, and it would be a interesting to try and run it at work since it would be a mission critical kind of thing... anyway, one of our servers runs Red Hat 5 Linux, so I'm learning as I go along.
