Just wanted to say hi to everyone. New to these boards but love photography and love WDW so here I am. ; My husband and I have a photography business here in the Virgin Islands for the last 25 years, specializing in underwater. ; We shoot a lot of commercial work as well but are the happiest underwater! ; He is the pro, I am the enabler... but I do dabble and when I am in WDW I tend to go nuts with my little Canon G9. ; The first time I saw Tim's night time shots of the World, I was so impressed. ; I purchased my husband the Canon 5D Mark II for Christmas last year and we love the low light potential of this camera. ; He has mostly been a Nikon shooter in the past. I am going back to WDW in early May and am looking forward once again to the limitless photographic potential ... I get so absorbed in all the details. I also look forward to being a part of these boards... Best fishes! Janet
Welcome aboard Janet. Living in the Virgin Islands & doing photography for a living. Where do I sign up? LOL
Welcome to the boards Janet! Did your husband try the D700? ; Both Canon and Nikon are good brands. ; I don't have any complaints with Canon anymore.
Welcome Janet - sounds like you've got it made! ; I love St John - beautiful island, and my location of choice whenever I go to St. Thomas (I can't get on the ferry fast enough to get out of the bustle of Charlotte Amalie!). Look forward to seeing some of that amazing underwater life, and shots from around St. John and the VIs...and your Disney stuff too!
Great to see someone from St. John as a member. ; I just recently joined myself. ; My wife and I spend the month of January on St. John. ; Your husband's name wouldn't be Steve would it? ; We own copies of two of his books on the Islands. ; The one on St. John is exceptionally nice. ; A couple years ago we took an underwater photography class from him at Maho Bay in conjunction with the Friends of the Virgin Islands. ; I am attaching a photo that we took this year at that exact same spot. That is too funny! ; Yes my husbands name is ; Steve. ; He is not a Disney fan however but he puts up with my obsession. ; He is still teaching classes and loving it. ; Great shot of the octopus and the conch... Janet
