    What camera are you using?

Canon Eos 300d with Sigma 28 - 300 F3.5-6.3 DG Macro usually with a UV filter attached. Usually I am shooting on the P or M setting Thanks

  14. bump the ISO to 1600, set Ev to -1, take the pics (they WILL look dark), boost the levels back in Photoshop, clean the file using Imagenomic Noiseware CE (freeware) to get rid of the digital noise.

To start with - get a 50/1.8 lens - about $75 new. I started there and moved up.

Set your ISO to 1600, shoot in RAW format and M mode - you'll probably want to shoot some of these at maybe 1/60 sec and f/1.8 or f/2 in manual mode - you can check the LCD after the shot to double check.

I got mine at 1/20 sec and f/2.8 with IS, ISO 1600

This is my Mary Poppins pic:

ISO 1600, f/2.8, 1/15s. Yes IS can help. Might have been nice to have ISO safety shift though.

Re: great movie ride, slightly off topic

isn't it funny how many of us have the same shots, of the same things at the world, and yet i never tire of looking at everyone else's, and we go back again next year to mousefest, and i guarantee i'll have 5 or 6 hundred again of the same subjects, but that's ok, i never tire of the world, plus i think familiarity helps, i've started already on my subject/ideas list for next mf, shots to redo, different angle, experiment with the exposure or lighting, etc
