Hello everyone, On our Anniversary this year, we were selected to be Grand Marshals for day at the Magic Kingdom...Basically, that means we were runner up for the stay at Cinderella's Castle and we were in the afternoon parade. The "Year of a Million Dreams Team" Member, Dean, told us he wanted to give it to us because we never had a honeymoon and we were celebrating our 5th Anniversary, but we came in second place for that day. (Not bad, number 2 out of a million people that day) The family that beat us out was celebrating their 42nd Anniversary-which is awesome. Non-the-less, the memory of "almost" getting the castle will last a lifetime and leading the "Dreams Come True" parade was amazing. We have had amazing experiences this year during the "Year of a Million Dreams". Has anyone else had a "Dream Come True" this year at WDW? The cool thing was, a Photopass Photographer followed us the entire parade route and snapped about 40 pictures and gave us a photopass and a free 5x7 print. We were also given our black "Mouseketeer" hats with our names stitched into them-we where them often at the parks. Disney really is the most magical place on earth! [This attachment has been purged. congrats, princess. to answer your question, i suppose having my grandfather picked as the honored veteran of the day for the main street flag retreat would be pretty extra-special-magical, although it has nothing to do with the year of 1,000,000 stickers, fastpasses, pins, dreams. happy anniversary you guys! refer to this thread for more: http://www.themagicinpixels.com/forum/h ... ic.php?t=8
thanks, roger. how could i have overlooked something that momentous? actually, i am one of the few people who enjoy the current promotion... kind of like a perpetual human lottery.
Those pictures of your family with your Grandfather were surely an extra special magical moment-for everyone in your family. I can image the excitement your Grandfather felt being an honorary veteran at the Magic Kingdom! We will never forget our Magical Moments of that day-besides, I've already framed the pictures.
Very nice. Until now, the only year of 1,000,000 paying customers winner I've heard of was my mother in law, whose car on Kilimanjaro Safari all won special "limited edition" pins on their way off the ride.
