Has anyone here used a Gorilla-pod?

Are they as compact as they seem?

    Do they travel well?

Do they really keep the camera still enough to obtain desired shots?

seems interesting... i suspect most of us here would need the gorilliapod slr zoom due to the weights of our cameras. i would love to see a review of this product.

i immediately thought about all those convenient lamp posts in mk, but i think in crowded night conditions the advantage would only go to the really tall, 6+ person to get it up high enough? looks really interesting but i too want to hear from someone who has actually used in the field

Speaking as a six foot plus person.. you have intruiged me.

Just six foot three, but still that might be enough. I'll be on the look out for one of these. I have a nice compact tripod already, but I can see that the Gorilla pod might have some advantages.

  9. cute product for point and shoot but I'm seriously paranoid installing my 30D with 17-55 f/2.8 lens (relatively heavy) on the Gorilla Pod.
