finally got a chance to get to my fav place. Now that it has cooled down there is alot of activity and saw my first harrier hawk for the season so hopefully eagles will show up soon and more hawks and maybe a peregrine or 2
thanks JB and Scott. Scott there was a ton more great blue herons and immature night crown herons today. they were too far away for a shot though. As far as new birds Bald Eagles should be showing up soon also which is what I want more than anything. Hopefully they will get into reach of the tamron
the hawk was back lit sitting on a speed limit sign at forsythe and I knew if I tried to go past it to get the light from the other side it would have taken off but there are always other days. they are so hard to get a good shot of. very very skittish
I like the backlit hawk. ; Especially how it shows the thinness of the feathers. ; Very cool. ; Did you spot meter on the hawk or did matrix metering get it right?
I had it on center weighted. I overexposed it one stop as it was coming out so dark. I should have switched to spot. I wasn't even sure what bird it was at first as the sun was so bright
these are great howie! I love the last gull in the first post. I like the way the bird is against the colors in the background.
