A fine lens. I'm glad I rented it, because I thought I wanted to buy it but now I don't think I would use it on a regular basis. Hopefully Nikon will come out with some FX f/4 lenses to match Canon's L lineup. 14-24 is great for some uses but I would rather have 17/18 to 40ish. I'm considering the 17-35 but the price is so close to the 14-24.....
(also granted I loved the 17-40 on APS-H)
