    Anyone started yet?
    We did ours on Monday, Julien loves the little characters that dance and sing....he wasn't too sure of the tree and what not at first, but he warmed up to it as the evening went on.

    I'm one of those freaks that gets started on Christmas as soon as Halloween is done. ; ;D I put up our tree when the Toronto Santa Claus parade airs (generally 2nd or 3rd week of November). Markham just had our parade last weekend and my daughters walked in it with their Sparks and Brownie troops. I usually have an open house for any relatives that come out for the parade so its nice to have it already decorated.

    Now my job is policing the cat to make sure he's not playing arcade games with the tree ornaments, or floor hockey with the baby Jesus under the tree! ; :eek:

    DW has a few things up, but this weekend will be an all-out decorating marathon, including the annual sacrificing of a tree and the outdoor ladder climbing/light stringing events!

    Has anyone seen the Canadian Tire ads for solar-powered outdoor lights? ; They claim the lights are bright led's, but I'd enjoy hearing feedback if anyone has tried them.

    I love the Christmas decorations at Disney World and would much rather be spending my holidays there!! ; Not sure why, and I can only blame me as I booked it, we are spending the holidays this year in Ottawa at the World Junior Hockey Championships. ; I put up a Palm 'christmas' tree this year because we'll be missing the warmer weather ; :)

  6. We put up our outside lights last weekend, and this weekend it's decorating inside time!

    Hey deblen4 - I'm in Ottawa. ; Are you travelling to see the World Juniors or do you live here too?

    We're traveling to Ottawa. ; We live about 3-4 hours away, about 30 minutes west of Peterborough. ; ;We're going to be in Ottawa to see about 17 hockey games, but should have time to see the tourist sites too. We haven't been in Ottawa for over 6 years, so I'm sure we'll find lots to see and do when not at the games. ; ;I don't suppose we'll have cold enough weather in the meantime to be able to skate on the canal? ;
    I'll enjoy Ottawa this year, but I'm already working on a plan to go south next year, not always during Christmas week but often the week before or week following. ; It's a lot fewer dvc points, and I really don't like the huge crowds. ;

  8. Hi - December can be too early for the canal - it all depends on the year, of course. Since it's already Dec.5th, there's no sign of it being ready anytime soon - I think they need 2 straight weeks of a certain temperature. ; But you can check out this NCC site for info and updates:

    Here's a spot that many who don't live here aren't aware of - Upper Canada Village does a wonderful "alight the night" Christmas light, fake skating rink (yes - in Canada), train ride, etc. - it's not WDW, but it's good local fun...

    I'm in Ottawa too, and am not looking forward to all the extra traffic this holiday season with the extra tournament......should be an extra boost for the economy though!

  10. hey - another Ottawa gal! ; Cool!

  11. Hey weemcp - I popped out to the Disney store at Bayshore yesterday - lots of Disney stuff 40% off - including HSM3 and Camp Rock tshirts et al. ; Might want to go check it out, if you haven't already...

    Impressive weemcp ... you can tell you are of a different generation than myself. Way back in the days when I had my girls, we didn't even have digital cameras let alone Blogs. Don't I sound like our parents! ; ;D

    That's a nice way for you to keep in touch.

  15. very nice blog - very enterprising of you indeed.

    I popped out to Bayshore Disney store again today (wanted to get another Christmas decoration) - they still have a lot of stuff on sale (mostly 40% off, some 25%, some 50%, some full price), but what's on sale today is different than what was on sale two days ago. ; The manager I spoke with said they are changing stuff everyday. ;

    BTW, mall was crazy - some schools (not my girls) have a PD day today, and it was super crowded. ; The Disney store itself was hopping!
