In going through some of my older photos tonight, I found this one I took with my old point and shoot back in 2005. ; I can't for the life of me remember why the castle was decorated this way. ; Can someone please remind me?

Oops, no that was 1-2 or 2-3 years ago. ; I remember seeing Peter there myself, but now I am having problems remember what it was for. ; I had thought it was just for YoMD.

It was for the Happiest Celebration on Earth honoring Disneyland's 50th.

That wasn't the Year of a Million Dreams.

The 2005 celebration was the Happiest Celebration on Earth, which commemorated the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, which opened on 5/5/55. All Disney parks around the world joined in the celebration, decorating their respective castles. WDW, as the "headquarters" of the celebration, actually got some attractions from other Disney parks, like Soarin', the LMA Stunt Show, and a couple of others that I can't remember right now, not to mention Wishes, which was originally shown at Disneyland.

I personally loved the WDW castle decorations for the HCOE and wish they'd kept at least some of that stuff permanently. I loved all the gold trim.

Nobody loved the huge Magic Mirror on the front, which showed scenes from the various Disney parks around the world.

    Um, no.

Disneyland opened on 7/16/1955. ; But the "official" opening is celebrated on 7/17/1955.
