    Not much luck down at either the Dam or the Colorado River Wildlife Sanctuaryâ„¢ for birds within a reasonable distance. ; And I've been wanting to test out my new combo (300/2.8 and 2x TC). ; This morning the flock (2-3 males, 3-4 females) of cardinals came by the back deck and a few stayed around when I got outside.

    All handheld, SSS on. ; 1st: minor cropping for vertical composition, 2nd more cropping, maybe about 40%, last one only minor.

    That last one, the female, is great! ; I like the second one too, it almost looks like he is checking you out to see if you can be trusted. ; I usually can get a pair to come to my feeder in the winter. ;

    It will never happen, we just need RyHo to get Bonds as his personal hitting coach and start hitting the long ball more. ; He hit for average more and was getting back on track until that injury in August.

    Nice work! ; Funny, I have those frequently in my yard, yet I don't always get a chance to shoot them - either they dart off before I get the camera out, or the weather/light/backgrounds are not conducive to photography. ; You got some nice, natural settings in the first ones, which I prefer - though the detail on the female is very good.
