http://www.gizmag.com/canon-wonder-camera-concept/15591/ Scroll down - basically Canon is planning on a world where SLRs are gone, and the cameras will be recording 24 still images with video, and the MP will be large enough that you can zoom in a substantial amount on each still.... Interesting discussion as well from the site; I think the one place they can't replace is large aperture recording where you don't want everything to be in focus.....unless they are thinking that with Photoshop now, you don't need to shoot that way on site.
