Brightness slider

OK, I should probably know this but I don't. ; In LR, what is the difference between the exposure slider and the brightness slider? ; I have been playing around with them and they seem to adjust the same thing. ; What am I missing?
 
Thanks Tim. ; I will give it a look. ; I really like Matt K, have all his books and watch him whenever I can. ; Also very impressed with RC. ;
