Booked: Christmastime Pixelminia trip Dec 9-13

I can't call it Pixelmania since that moved to October, but in the smoking hole where Pixelmania used to be, I've gone ahead and booked my 'PixelMINia' trip to see the Christmas displays, from Friday Dec 9 through Tuesday Dec 13. ; My friend Dave will be coming down from Texas, and I booked my 1-bedroom villa at Saratoga (which was the only thing still left available!).

If any TMIPers are in the area, or in town, maybe we can do a 'mini-Pixelmania', or Pixelminia, Christmas meet or two. ; Dave and I will both be doing the unplanned type trip - no rush or must-dos, no itineraries or plans or rope drops.

 

There is a very slim chance that I might be around as celebrations magazine is looking at a get together. ; Not likely but possible. ;

I'll be at WDW Dec. 7-12 for the AllEars and WDW Today meets. ; I think there's a 15-minute window in there somewhere that's not spoken for.

 

Good to hear - I didn't even know there were other meets on that same weekend. ; That would be neat if you were down at that time, Tim. ; Maybe we can do a Pixelminia after all - with a few 'local' TMIPers living down there. ; I'll keep up to date with this thread as we get closer.

 

For anyone else who doesn't follow other parts of the Disney community, here are the details of the AllEars December to Remember, WDW Today Reunion and RADP gatherings in December.

 

Without clicking on each one for the deep details, are they generally the types of meetups that are very strict on attendance only to those who register or are members, or are they generally friendly if, say, I happened upon a meetup and stopped in to say high to Dennis, and hung around for a bit? ; Or would I be surrounded by secret service, searched for ID, then taken to a secret facility by unmarked jet?

 

Most of the meets are open to everyone. ; There are a few hard-ticket events, but the ropes and large men talking into their cufflinks will make it obvious that you're not one of the Chosen Few.

And if you're looking for Something Completely Different, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is playing two shows in downtown Orlando on Sunday, Dec. 11. ; I'm taking some friends to the 3:00 show.

 

I am definitely up for coming down and spending some time with you and your friend in the parks. ; Count on it, and we will work out the details as it gets closer. ; Dennis, maybe I will slide into one of those meets also.

 

ScottWDW is co-hosting an AllEars meet first thing Saturday morning (Dec. 10) at Animal Kingdom. ; I believe the plan is to pick up Safari FastPasses then walk the Pangani trail. ; I plan to be there; if any of you want to drag yourselves out of bed you can join us.

 

All sounds good. ; Well, except maybe that 'first thing in the morning' bit. ; For me, the first thing in the morning is my coffee at 10am. ; Is that early enough to make it over to AK to meet you? ;

Sounds like we may have a chance to put together quite a few TMIPers - if not all the same day and time, then at least in a few smaller meetups. ; Looking forward to it!

 

Too bad Red - your trip is dead in between my two - I'll likely be there again in January, but not until the last week or two.

This is an opportunity to just meet up with everyone in attendance. Grab your favorite beverage from World Showcase and meet in front of American Adventure for a fun meet.

 

I love wishes from the Poly beach. ; I just need to remember my tripod and 75-300 to get some better shots of it. ; That sounds like a fun night though. ; I think I will be seeing you all a few days that week.

 

I probably won't make the one on the 9th. ; I'm headed up that morning, but likely only just arriving at around 2pm and checking in - no way to make the parks by then. ; Epcot 11th sounds good though for me, and the 12th is fine too (for me, so's the 10th - I haven't planned which parks we're going to each day so I'm still completely open - my buddy Dave is just looking for a vacation from work, so he doesn't much care which park we go to on any given day.
