    I had a fantastic time at Walt Disney World last week. ; Only trouble was it was too short. ; The weather was perfect, and the food and wine festival was awesome.

    There were several highlights. ; I auditioned for American Idol Experience and made it into the show! ; What a rush! ; It was so much fun to be on the huge stage and to see my own face bigger than life on the giant video screen. ; This is definitely something I'm planning to do again, on December 7 to be exact. ; We're having a RADP AIE meet at 3:00 that day, so hopefully we can make it happen again.

    The Halloween party was a riot. ; The parade and fireworks were among the best I've ever seen. ; And all that free candy didn't hurt either...

    I had friends staying at Bay Lake Tower, so I was able to get in there last week too. ; The rooms are gorgeous, much nicer than the promo photos made them look. ; The views over the Magic Kingdom are stunning. ; We used the pool and it's slide although the breeze off the lake made for a cool dip. ; The hot tub was much nicer. ; We even played Bocce on one of the 2 courts they have there. ; But the ultimat BLT experience is the Top of the World Lounge. ; Open only for DVC members staying there on points and their guests, I was lucky enough to get up there twice. ; Watching HalloWishes from there is perfect. ; and the views of all of Central Florida are Amazing!

    So there are the highlights of 6 days at Disney. ; Only 59 day left until the return trip.

    If you got any pictures of BLT drop them in the photo gallery we could use some  I wish they would let in any DVC members to the top of the world lounge.

    Glad you had such a great time.

    Oh sounds like you had a blast. ; Congrats on getting on stage at AI. ; That is too cool. ; Would have loved to see that. Did anyone take any video? ; So jealous of you getting to BLT and Top of the World. ; I have seen some photos of what things look like from there and it looks amazing. ;

    It was a total blast!

    I entered the audition door around 10:30 in the morning with my friend Julie who became my "superfan". ; First I was asked to sing acapella in front of a preliminary judge who decided whether I was worthy of seeing the producer of the show. ; Once past that round, I got a button that said "I auditioned for American Idol Experience" and a number, like runners wear in races. ; From there I was directed to the "Coca-Cola Lounge" where I filled out some forms and was given an iPod with the 100 songs approved for use on the show. ; I was told to pick 2 songs which I would perform for the producer. ; I chose "Your Song" by Elton John and "Circle of Life" also by Sir Elton. ; About a half dozen other auditioners were in the lounge with me and it was quite interesting to hear all those people singing different songs at the same time. ; In the lounge there is a monitor which shows the songs already chosen for the day. ; We were not allowed to pick songs that others had already used.

    Once in the producer's office, I performed the 2 songs, and then was shown a video hosted by Ryan Seacrest who told me I was going on to the show! ; I was given a lanyard with a "Vote for Me" card attached and asked to come back at 11:50 for the 1:00 show.

    to be continued...

    The story continues...

    I exited the producer's office, and signed some paperwork. ; I was told I could have a group of up to 6 people be my "fans" and they would be able to get early preferred seating for my show. ; I quickly called my friend Kim who was over in the Magic Kingdom with her parents. ; With my "superfan" Julie, her mom and cousin that made up my group of six. ; We then went and did a couple of attractions, and had lunch across the street from AIE at the ABC Commissary.

    I returned to the stage door at the appointed time to find that my competitors were the two people who auditioned next to me. ; We had chatted some in the Coke Lounge, so we got to know each other a little. ; We were finally ushered into the green room where there was a place to store your stuff and a couple of comfy couches. ; The other 2 singers did their things first, then I was taken to the hair and makeup room. ; The woman there gave me enough makeup that I didn't slow under the stage lights, and put some product in my hair and told me she was giving me a "David Cook" look. ; I didn't see it.

    After 10 minutes in the chair I was shown the back room rehearsal space. ; A CM there helped me through the end of the song, which was slightly different from the version you are used to hearing on the radio. ; We choreographed a little movement so that I didn't just stand like a statue out in front of an audience. ; All in all, it was like a "light version" of a rehearsal that I've had many times havng done community theatre for the last 12 years or so.

    Next time...the stage!

    What a great story! ; We are huge fans of that attraction. ; We did the finale show last week (as audience though).

    Did they give you an audio/ video tape of the performance to take home with you?
