The Fort Worth Zoo. ; They are supposedly one of the top 5 zoos in the country, and I can kind of understand why - while they don't have the same space as the really great ones, like the San Diego Zoo, they have spent money on habitats, raised walkways and decor. ; I would call it "San Diego Lite" but with really reasonable prices. ; $12 admission for adults ($5 parking). ; The San Diego Zoo costs $42 for an adult.
That seems to be the direction that a lot of zoos are taking. ; National Zoo doesn't have a ton of space either, but are working on significant upgrades to the Asia exhibits (Panda, Red Panda, Asian Elephant, etc.). Last time I was there, the panda upgrades were complete, but work was just starting on the Asian Elephant habitat.
