Woo Hoo! What was it like flying in one of them babies? My Dad loaded bombs on those during WWII in England. He was stationed on the base featured in the movie, "12 O'Clock High". Great shots! The Tokina is a fun lens, isn't it?
It was a lot smoother than most commercial flights nowadays. Then again, when your top speed is only 200-250 mph that could have something to do with it. This one had the moonroof so you could lose your camera to the slipstreamtake pictures with no plexiglass, which is the one of Lake Travis, or these: Top turret Tail They let some of us crank the propeller to get the oil out of the cylinders before flight; they had 2 other flights scheduled for after us, so they never shut down when we landed, so that was a special treat.
Very awesome experience yes. And Scott - It was really nice shooting UWA again. I knew I needed it for the interior shots and it didn't disappoint. My pop-up flash disappointed, but I forgot occasionally because: pop-up flash does not go well with Tokina at 12mm. 14/15 okay, but not 12. But the Tokina is a very nice lens. Barrel distortion at 12, but who doesn't have that?
Roger, the popup flash will dissapoint with your 18-200 too. I bought the cheap little sb400 and it covers it perfectly though.
Yea, the first time I used the pop-up at 18mm for a little fill, I got the shadow. I have to remember to use my SB-600 for times like those. Roger- I didn't know you were looking out the ship! Thought you were in the upper turret. Glad you held on! ;D
I was going to post some more, but my Coppermine's been compromised. Sheesh. And I don't have FTP here at work.
Okay, while my gallery may be...the image files shouldn't be. Some looks through plexiglass Over the left wing Austin downtown just under the left wing tip near the horizon

Betty Jane They just added her to the tour a few weeks ago. A rare two-seater P-51, she's available for flight training. For only $3k an hour. http://www.collingsfoundation.org/ma_p5 ... aining.htm
