I've been at Christmas Time! I have to decide just how early to show up for my Repo Cruise in 2011? ; The weekend before is Easter Weekend and have not been paying attention!LOL I know, I know, it's a long ways off but this is the only Disney Trip I have planned at the moment!LOL
Never been during the peak times. But I've read that Christmas, US Thanksgiving & Easter are the busiest. No first hand experience thought.
I haven't been to Disneyland at Easter (or any other time yet!) but I have been to Disney World on Easter weekend, once, and I'd never do it again! ; It was our first trip to Disney World, many years ago, but the line ups were ridiculous, and it was packed everywhere you went. ; I remember standing in hours long line ups for every ride, 2 1/2 hours for Country Bear Jamboree - I've never liked that show since! ; It was probably not the longest wait during that visit, but the show certainly wasn't worth waiting that long. ; If you don't mind crowds and spending the majority of your time in line ups then you would probably enjoy the extra seasonal sights during the peak periods, but I do my best to avoid those days. ; If you're not in the park early you also risk a chance of not being admitted if they reach capacity. ;
That's what I was afraid of! I've been to DL at Christmas time and I actually felt clausterphobic!!!! Won't do that again! Guess I'll stay in TO for Easter and then head out to California! Thanks!
I too have been around Christmas and it wasn't too bad. But I have heard that Easter is worse. We just went last April (about 2 weeks after Easter) and it was crazy busy!
I used to be down there on business trips all the time. Yes, Easter is very busy. I found lots of people from "down under" visit in Feb, mar, april as well. . I love to go around our thanksgiving. late sept or early October and if in Otcober you can get in on Nightmare beFore Christmas at the Haunted Mansion. My dd and I are planning another trip for this Sept 2010 cause we were last there Sept 2008 (yes my daughter wore here birthday badge at 20 yrs old ) ; so for us two years is already too long to stay away anymore.
I missed this thread when it was originally posted ... DL has very different "busy" schedules than WDW. When we planned our trip in 2007, I did a wee bit of research. ;: ...We were going over March Break and I found that local schools do not have breaks during March - it's more of an eastern thing. So, WDW & Florida are very busy but California was dead quiet. (Beautiful time to go FYI.) What I did find is that most school boards in California will give 2 weeks at Easter ... either 2 weeks before, 2 weeks after, or one week before and one after ... there was quite a variance. So, unfortunately, Easter-time is one of the busiest times at DLR since that park's attendance (unlike WDW) is made mostly of state locals. Everything is manageable for us over-planners though! ;
