and the band played on, the mystic highlands pipe band, from mystic, connecticut, appearing last saturday during the parade at the greenport maritime festival i love that twirly thing the drummers do with the sticks and i've always though the pipe majors look cool, especially with the tall furry hat, and no, i do not know if this is an authentic band or not, and since they were all armed with the skein dhu, i did not ask, and it wasn't a windy day so no help there [This attachment has been purged. Reminds me of a story I heard about.. and this is NOT the punch line to some joke.. that a Scottish regiment in Iraq was so short on funds that they had to share kilts, they couldn't afford enough to go around. I'll not be making any bagpipe jokes. I kind of fear that an entire marching band may be rather painful, in terms of unadulterated ear piercing volume, but I like bagpipes. I can't avoid referring back to Disney World, and "Off Kilter".. I love it when people throw traditional instruments into modern music.
