I'd say if you look at it leg to leg, like in the bottom pic it's about 2 inches long. ; They are a wonderful species - completely safe for humans. ; I guess they could bite but basically no harmful effects to us. ; Unfortunately they do like to make their webs in places where you will walk. ; This one did once but moved right off the path and went between two bushes. ; When I saw it a few hours later, that lunch was completely gone from the web.
