Well, that was shot at 17mm on Full Frame. So, that's roughly 10.5mm on a 1.6. You should probably set your tripod as close to the end of that entrance flower bed as possible. Or even better yet, people seriously praise that Tokina 11-16 for crop bodies ;)
 
or you and paul share that canon 10-22 ef-s mount that i'm bringing to share around for you canon crop sensor users
