tried out a friends newer version of Nikons 80-400. if I didn't need the reach of the 600 I would consider this lens for sure. fast focus and sharp

I should sell my old Nikon 80-400VR and pick up the new one. ; Maybe this Spring as people get more into birding.

I have heard that as well. ; Might be time to sell the old and get with the new this year.
