Damn straight I would be doing that! Did you do the photographer experience this year?

They don't seem to offer one, but Michael had a guy that does photo charters look into having one, but that never seemed to materialize.

I emailed them twice since January about the possibility of a photography pass allowing access earlier than the general public at extra cost, but got no response at all. I'll contact them again in the fall.

The photo charter operator didn't manage to get the details ironed out in time for this year. Hopefully he will try again in the future. If he does manage to get something out together, it will be awesome.

Otherwise, shooting the show with regular public access was fun and I plan to do it again next year.

Under the lights just after sunset....a meeting on the pitcher's mound.

Was shooting in Shutter Priority mode and quickly brought the shutter down for this one. One thing about baseball, there is time to do such things.

Went at an All Ford Show yesterday and found what quite possibly could be the last Mustang I buy. Well, once Ford makes them CarPlay compatible, that is.

The Wild Walk opened over the holiday weekend. Nice to see a model I photographed two years ago become reality.

Is this wicked or what? The Syracuse Nationals Hot Rod Show starts today. Over 7,000 Custom Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and exotics. Oh, yeah, I'll be there!

So, where did you go last weekend? Finished mine at Fair Haven State Park on Lake Ontario where I seem to always find a sailboat to photograph.

Any fans of Knight Rider? Found this KITT replica at the Syracuse Nationals last weekend. Complete with red sensor scanner working.

A funny story in three photos. A few weekends ago, during my normal wildlife photo walks in the wetlands, I came upon a raccoon walking through the pines. He was cautious of me, but not scared off - he initially hid behind a tree a bit, then poked out to see if I was a threat:

Once he assumed I wasn't, he started to walk out from behind the tree to walk past me - we were only about 10 feet from each other. However, as he came out behind the tree and started to walk closer, he was so busy keeping eyes up on me that he wasn't watching where he was stepping...and there was something sitting on the ground camouflaged in the fallen leaves. I saw it, and knew it was there...I had just snapped a closeup of a lovely 2-foot-long green iguana with bits of orange coloration:

But the raccoon didn't see it as it was too busy eyeing me. Unfortunately I was in heavy shade and I had a slow shutter speed - plenty for shooting a slow raccoon and a still iguana, but not nearly fast enough for what happened next.

As I was readying to take another shot of the raccoon, it stepped forward and placed a foot directly on the tail of the iguana. Just as I pressed the shutter, the iguana leapt out from the leaves and whipped its tail to scurry away, and the raccoon positively exploded in fear:

The raccoon jumped backwards and flipped over in a reverse cartwheel, eyes popping out of its head. In the pic above, you can just see the end of the iguana's tail in the lower left corner of the frame as it whips away. The poor raccoon tried to recover, panting with its teeth out, looking at me like it was my fault.

Though I wish I had adjusted my shutter speed for the moment, had I anticipated it, I still actually like the blurry mess of a photo, because it will always remind me of that funny moment!

Took in one of the most famous sports venues in the US over the weekend. Saratoga Race Course is an historic and storied place in horse racing. Thanks to a couple of photographer friends, I got access to some great shooting locations.

You knew I was going to do some motion work at Saratoga. This was taken as one of the turf race horses trotted back to the paddock after a race.
