Gillian and I will likely go to the Pixelmania Uni meet as well as an additional partial day with others from the peanut gallery. Before Yachtsman could work. Anyone know anything about when they do their annual price increases? We will be down in April for a few days before a cruise so we would likely purchase a Uni AP before that trip to get the most out of the investment. Also, any interest in Halloween Horror Nights? Don't know much about it but looks like fun.
As far as Universal I may arrive Tuesday. So Wednesday is possibly a Universal day for me also. I have to know what I will do before I book my flights on Oct. 18. Who is going on Wednesday?
The planning board promises to announce which day the "official" trip to Universal will be before the Southwest Booking Window opens so everyone can plan accordingly.
I just looked at my ressie. I am booked for Monday night the 17th also. I was planning on canceling that Monday, but if we go to Universal on Tuesday and/or Wednesday, before Pixelmania, it would be possible for me. I am at WDW right now.
What is the added cost of HHN? If not priced too high, I'd consider it as I don't do Haunted Houses but love the "Zones" and walk around characters.
I'm a maybe on a second Universal day and HHN. If I do go on Monday, I'll have wheels to haul everyone there and back. I'm currently planning on flying down Tuesday evening and staying until the following Tuesday afternoon, assuming Southwest's schedule allows that.
Ok, So I was a bad girl. My trip is now up to two weeks since it's the only trip I'm making this year. 10/16 - 10/29 I'm thinking that I will probably have a get together with my non camera nerd friends on Sunday, -Tuesday (Oct 16th -19th) before Pixelmania so I am definitely down for extended Universal on the days AFTER the official Universal meet. Mike is there any way that you can extend your trip on the back end to do Universal with us? Also I think Gary is doing the water parks this year. I have a 10 day Water Parks and more ticket. Is anybody interested in doing a morning at a water park? I can hear that lazy river calling my name. The soothing waves of the homicidal wave pool at Typhoon lagoon is in need of an additional body... I know.... I am a BAD influence! ~Joanie
I've never been to the water parks so I might be interested. The downside is that I have the Gold AP which does not include the waterparks. If you just do a morning at the pool I'm not sure it's worth the extra cost. But I'd definitely be up for the Yachtsman afterward.
I found a list of 2015 HHN prices. The standalone ticket price was $102, but if you had a park ticket or annual pass, HHN is an add-on that costs $50 or more, depending on the night that you go. There are also additional cost options like Express Pass and VIP tours. One big problem: Last year, HHN was on Wednesday - Sunday on the week that corresponds to Pixelmania 2016 (Oct. 22-25).
i thought i'd throw this out there, i check in friday 10/14/16 and am checking out of boardwalk tuesday 10/25/16, it is a switch from my usual beach club because i had too many points banked at boardwalk and needed to use some up. one of the reasons i am staying so long is to make several trips over to universal BEFORE official pixel mania, with perhaps a water park break or 2 in the afternoons, returning to universal in the evenings, depending on closing times, and that hhn thing. let me put it right out there, i will not be doing hhn, did it once, found it too graphic, and way too rock and roll loud for my taste. i'm probably flying down on thursday night, something easily accomplished from the ny metro area, and just stay in one of the airport hotels, something i do quite frequently. this puts me online at 8:00 am at magic express, and usually on property no later than 9:30. i will have a car for a few days, most likely from national on property from friday 10/14 to wednesday 10/19, depending on the number of pixel mania attendees in the area for those days i may go to an intermediate/full size, if it's just me and maybe one other my usual tin can. i'm not doing universal on the tail end of the trip as this year i may very well reserve the monday for nothing more strenuous than some pool time and a massage. so no need for the car past wednesday morning. although i have no wish to have to add 2 additional vacation days onto the trip, there exists the possibility that it might be far cheaper to drive down, and i am no fan of that at tall. in which case i would arrive friday afternoon and leave tuesday morning 10/25 right after breakfast. I-95 ny to orlando is one loooong nasty drive. a trip into mordor might be more fun.
I will be there Tuesday 10/18- Tuesday 10/25. There's a possibility that I could arrive as early as Saturday morning. So, like Gary I will be going to Universal before Pixelmania. Monday will be my traditional one park one lens day. In any case I have no desire to do HHN.
My options are arriving on Monday or Tuesday before Pixelmania and leaving the Tuesday. Wednesday or Thursday after. I probably won't stay all 10 nights it will somewhat depend on which days I may be able to go to Universal. So I will to adjust my stay to go Universal on Tuesday the 18th, Wednesday the 19th and/or Monday the 24th, Tuesday the 25th and Wednesday the 26th. Also a day during Pixalmania, of course, if it is decided to go then. If I get a Universal pass I would like to go 3 days to Universal. I will not have my own transportation. I know Joannie and I can share after our meet. Is there anyone going the pre meet Wednesday and possibly Tuesday I could share a ride with? Have to know which days to book my Southwest flights. I guess I travel to Mordor each summer (and sometimes an extra time in the winter) as we drive. That being said, I have never done this without the benefit of a second driver.

The date was announced on the PM2016 Park of the Day thread a couple of days ago. Universal will be a pre-Pixelmania meet on Wednesday, October 19.
